Discarded fragments of Nishijin-ori fabric—once destined for Kyoto’s sumptuous obi sashes—are carefully preserved within transparent glass through specialized processing, ensuring every piece is unique. This act of upcycling honors the past while breathing new life into treasured heritage, reflecting a commitment to sustainability aligned with the SDGs.

The design features a richly symbolic hexagonal kikkō lattice, weaving in lotus and hōsōge (sacred imaginary flowers) motifs—emblems of longevity and spiritual beauty. The pattern follows a gōtenjō (coffered ceiling) format and incorporates shōchikubai—pine, bamboo, and plum—traditional symbols of endurance, growth, and celebration.

意匠は、長寿や精神的美を象徴する蓮華・宝相華を織り込んだ六角形の亀甲文様を軸に、格天井様式に松竹梅の吉祥紋を配した重厚な構成。金地を基調に、赤・緑・紫の高貴な彩色が厳かさと華やかさを兼ね備えています。

仏教美術の精神性と日本の季節的象徴性が融合したこの意匠は、あらゆる慶事にふさわしい格調高い文様です。
