Created in collaboration with Nishijin-ori artisans, it merges the contrasts of soft textile and rigid glass, tradition and modernity. Through specialized processing, discarded fragments of Nishijin-ori fabric—once woven for Kyoto’s opulent obi sashes—are encased in transparent glass, ensuring that no two pieces are ever identical.

This celebratory pattern unites the auspicious trio of shōchikubai—pine, bamboo, and plum—with other iconic Japanese blossoms such as camellia, cherry, and plum. Each element carries a symbolic meaning: pine for longevity, bamboo for resilience, and plum for hope in adversity.

Rendered in vibrant, harmonious colors, the composition balances festive brilliance with refined grace. Traditionally used for weddings, New Year’s, and ceremonial occasions, this timeless design embodies the spirit of joy, blessing, and cultural elegance.

Rooted in upcycling and sustainability, this piece aligns with SDGs principles by repurposing exquisite fabrics that would otherwise go to waste. By preserving Kyoto’s textile heritage in a new form, it celebrates imperfection and honors the artisans who have upheld this tradition for centuries.

京都の洗練された美意識とクラフツマンシップを体現する唯一無二のガラスプレート。西陣織の職人とのコラボレーションにより、柔らかな織物と硬質なガラス、伝統と現代のコントラストを融合させた。かつて京都の豪華な帯のために織られた西陣織の反物を、特殊な加工を施すことで透明なガラスに封じ込め、同じものは二つとない。

松・竹・梅の吉祥の象徴に加え、椿・梅・桜などの華やかな花々を組み合わせた、慶びと格式を表す伝統的な意匠である。松は長寿、竹は成長、梅は逆境に咲く力強さを示し、いずれも祝賀の場にふさわしい意味を持つ。

明るく鮮やかな色調が全体を包み、華やかさの中にも上品な落ち着きを感じさせる構成となっている。古来より祝儀や正月、婚礼などの晴れの日に用いられてきた典型的な吉祥文様であり、現代においてもなお広く親しまれている。
