Through advanced processing, discarded fragments of Nishijin-ori fabric—once woven for Kyoto’s opulent obi sashes—are preserved in transparent glass, making each plate entirely one of a kind.

The featured design presents cherry blossoms arranged in a delicate circular formation, paired with flowing ryūsui (stream) motifs woven into a black silk background. The cherry blossom ring evokes both the fleeting beauty of spring and deeper symbolism of connection, cycles, and renewal.
