Through specialized processing, discarded fragments of Nishijin-ori fabric—once woven for Kyoto’s opulent obi sashes—are encased in transparent glass, ensuring that no two pieces are ever identical.

Set against a deep black background, this design features a central karahana (Tang flower) rendered in luminous gold and silver. The symmetrical composition, inspired by the Rinpa school, evokes both quiet strength and refined elegance.

The striking contrast between monochrome tones and metallic brilliance gives the pattern a modern, minimalist appeal while preserving its classical dignity. Artistic and symbolic, it blends bold decorative expression with timeless serenity.
