Through specialized processing, discarded fragments of Nishijin-ori fabric—once woven for Kyoto’s opulent obi sashes—are encased in transparent glass, ensuring that no two pieces are ever identical.

This abstract design features gentle horizontal stripes in tones of blue, mint, soft yellow, and violet. The characteristic blurring of the kasuri (ikat) technique introduces a natural rhythm and softness to the otherwise structured bands.

Rather than relying on figurative motifs, the beauty lies in the interplay of weave and dye. With its airy palette and subdued texture, this modern composition brings a sense of calm, movement, and subtle sophistication to contemporary textile aesthetics.
