日本六古窯のひとつである信楽の窯で手作業で成形されたこの茶碗は、無常や自然の不完全さに美を見出す日本の哲学、わびさびを体現している。土のゴツゴツとした質感、釉薬の微妙な変化、抹茶との関わり方など、すべてが信楽焼ならではの有機的で洗練されたエレガンスを反映している。
